This study describes the main economic processes observed in Russia during President Vladimir Putin's second term. Specifically, it considers renationalisation and the concentration of economic assets. The author draws attention to the consequences for the energy and oil sector and concludes that the motive for the concentration of assets in Russia is not the economic interest of the corporations merged but the political interest of the Kremlin.
