This chapter discusses information sharing between the federal government and the private sector to enhance US national and homeland security. It provides a brief history of public–private information sharing efforts before the 11 September 2001 terrorist attacks, describes reforms and initiatives since then, and assesses problems and prospects for improved information sharing in the future.
