This paper analyzes the prospects of the development of the Visegrad Group. First, it gives a historical overview of the formation of the Group and then considers its operating mechanisms. Further, it discusses tasks of the Group with a focus on enlargement and outlines its threats and perspectives. The authors conclude that the tasks faced by the Visegrad countries in the EU will require co-operation, the exchange of information and openness between partners.
