This paper addresses the use of the internet and video formats by violent extremists, and possible responses to it. It analyzes extremists' cyberspace activities in the US, the Middle East and South Asia, reviews practices of governments and civil society, and offers recommendations. The author concludes that the key to any strategy to counter extremism is the ability to reach the same audiences targeted by extremists.
