This paper addresses the development and effects of narcoterrorism and proposes possible countermeasures. It discusses the definition of the concept, the link to the illegal drug trade and the international debate on countermeasures. According to the author, the debate on countermeasures against narcoterrorism is parallel to the debate on countermeasures against the global drug trade.
