This study of 13 peace accords signed from 1949 to 2005 examines the efficacy and utility of peace accords in bringing an end to conflict in northeast India. It makes recommendations to policymakers involved in conflict resolution and peace-building efforts in India and aims to increase international understanding of the role of peace accords in creating conditions for sustainable peace.
