This study traces the path taken by Hizbollah since Israel's withdrawal from southern Lebanon in May 2000. It explores the organization's interests, its patterns of operation and the new "rules of the game" that have dominated along the Israel-Lebanon border. The author argues that domestic and international influences - specifically Syrian, Iranian, Lebanese and Israeli - have constrained Hizbollah and forced it to abide by defined rules of the game while it continues its armed resistance against Israel.
