This paper examines some of the main land tenure issues in Colombia. It argues that humanitarian organizations providing aid to communities enveloped in protracted conflicts must take land issues into consideration to be successful. It also studies the existing land legislation in Colombia, its application in practice and its effects on the work of in-country humanitarian aid agencies.
