This paper examines the media campaign that accompanied the Russian-Georgian conflict. It considers the goals and scale of the Russian propaganda campaign and outlines its characteristics and techniques. The authors conclude that the Kremlin’s control of the media is one of its key tools of societal consolidation and control.
