This paper discusses China's strategic posture, both regionally and internationally, after 9/11. It considers the establishment of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, China's ferocious energy demand, its unprecedented economic growth and the role of its extensive, and at times permeable borders. It additionally considers China's exposure to terrorism.
