This brief looks at Turkey's foreign policy in light of its ambitions of full EU membership. It investigates the underlying reasons for the decline of enthusiasm for EU membership following the golden age of Europeanization and reforms during the early years of the AKP government. The author points to internal and external political developments that may help to reverse the drift away from Europeanization.
