This study examines the causes of staff turnover in the humanitarian sector. It further outlines the key elements of a strategy to retain staff and describes what agencies can do to manage the consequences of staff turnover. The authors argue that humanitarian agencies should address this problem as well as invest time, support and funding in understanding the causes, developing solutions and implementing them.
