This paper considers the anticipated increase in the incidence of malaria and dengue fever due to climate change. It focuses particularly on maritime Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands. The author calls on the Australian government to expand its monitoring of mosquito-borne diseases to better assess the nexus between climate change and public health as well as to track its evolution.
