This brief examines Australia's engagement with Africa. The authors propose that Australia should leverage areas of shared challenges between it and Africa where Australia's experience and expertise enable it to make strategic and mutually beneficial contributions. To this end, the paper argues that Australia should focus its African development program on sustainable agriculture and renewable energy.
