This paper discusses the Naxal movement in the Indian states of Chattisgarh and Orissa. It explains the growth of the Naxal movement in the poor and underdeveloped regions of these two states. The paper mainly focuses on the organizational growth of the movement and the phenomenal increase in violence in the Naxal brand of politics. The author concludes that Naxalism has grown into a serious internal security problem and compartmentalization would only worsen the situation.
