This paper discusses the threat of bioterrorism and the need for biodefense. It argues that US efforts to take the lead in the war against bioterrorism are causing more harm than good. The author points out that the threat of bioterrorism in the near future is low for a series of reasons and that a mass-casualty bioterrorist attack does not seem probable.
