This paper focuses on China’s anti-satellite (ASAT) test of January 2007 and the international community’s reaction to it. It discusses the aspect of the arms control and explores whether this test represents China’s attempt to militarize space. The author argues that this test will increase pressure on other nations to emulate China and enhance their space surveillance and control measures and develop ASAT capabilities.
