This paper discusses relations between India and Myanmar. It gives a brief overview of the history of the relationship and explores India’s security concerns regarding the Myanmar-backed insurgency in the Indian states bordering Myanmar. The paper further examines China’s position and influence on this relationship and looks at Indo-Myanmar trade relations. The author concludes that India should adopt a realist policy but with a blend of idealism in its relations with Myanmar.
