This paper examines developments in Sino-Indian relations at the beginning of the 21st century. The author argues that, while most engagements are primarily of an economic nature, the spillover is being felt in other areas as well. Despite agreeing to disagree on certain issues, the China and India are willing to identify new areas for partnership. According to the author, this is primarily because a rising China presents both an opportunity and a challenge to Indian foreign policy.
