It analyzes the background to several agreements signed in this timeframe: the strategic and defense agreements of July 2005, the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty, the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Science and Technology, and the nuclear agreement of March 2006. The author also explores the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) energy project and the likeliness of a space launch agreement.
