This publication asks whether or not a political crisis has resulted in Japan from the rejection of the Minshutō political party from a proposed coalition. The analysis also addresses a discussion in the Japanese parliament on legislation designed to replace the 2001 counterterrorism bill. Finally, the publication discusses changes in Japan's North Korea policy and Prime Minister's Yasuo Fukuda's China diplomacy.
