This paper discusses the economic situation in Transnistria and the possibilities to resolve the Transnistrian conflict. First, it considers the history of the conflict between the Republic of Moldova, with its capital in Chisinau, and the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, with the capital in Tiraspol. Further, it discusses the EU’s interests in involvement in the resolution of the conflict between Chisinau and Tiraspol.
