This policy brief summarizes Australia's history of dealing with war criminals before looking at their presence in the country and why this problem deserves attention. It outlines Australia's approach and compares it with that of Canada, which has a domestic war crimes program. The paper finishes by suggesting ways to strengthen Australia's policy toward war criminals.
