The 2009 US National Infrastructure Protection Plan (NIPP) provides the unifying structure for the integration of existing and future critical infrastructure and key resources (CIKR) protection efforts and resiliency strategies. It features roles and responsibilities of different actors, presents a risk management strategy and details how CIKR protection is to be integrated as part of the US homeland security mission. The 2009 NIPP replaces the 2006 version and reflects changes and updates to program elements and concepts, broadening the focus of NIPP-related programs and activities to an all-hazards environment.
