This publication examines the monetization of aid on food security (a process whereby agricultural commodities donated by the First World are sold to generate revenues within Third World countries and used to stimulate local development). The authors argue that the link between the act of monetization and the use of the proceeds resulting from it is not always clear in terms of its affects on food security. The publication concludes that while monetization still has a role at the macroeconomic level, impact increasingly should be at the level of household food security.
