This issue of the African Journal on Conflict Resolution (AJCR) surveys the origins and prospects for selected African conflicts. It considers the prospects for democratic governance in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and reviews grounds for impasse in the Ethiopia-Eritrea border conflict. It also discusses the genesis of ethnic conflict in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria and explores the dynamics of political conflict in Zimbabwe.
