This issue of the African Journal on Conflict Resolution (AJCR) discusses various conflict management and resolution approaches in South Africa. It considers the utility of traditional dispute mechanisms and reviews the achievements of South Africa's Truth and Reconciliation Commission. It additionally explores resource scarcity issues and security sector governance in South Africa, and surveys South Africa's participation in African-led conflict resolution initiatives.
