This issue of the African Journal on Conflict Resolution (AJCR) surveys conflict origins and resolution approaches in selected African countries. It discusses the practice of banditry and cattle rustling in northwestern Kenya, and considers the impact of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) on conflict management in eastern Africa. It also details the grievances of ethnic minorities in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria and debates the role of track two diplomacy in tempering the conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
