This paper examines energy security from the viewpoint of evolving NATO strategy and identifies nuclear renaissance as a significant cause of future security concerns. The paper outlines some critical aspects of the emerging nuclear renaissance as well as highlighting ongoing initiatives aimed at reducing energy security risks. The author argues that the energy security debate within NATO needs to become more receptive to a wide range of security challenges instead of focusing almost exclusively on fossil fuels.
