This report highlights the findings of research conducted by actors working within the field of history, memory and memorialization. It shows a range of diverse views from participants and focuses on the link between memory and identity in South Africa. It explores themes of life in post-apartheid South Africa, reconciliation and the role of memory and forgiveness in the reconciliation process. The authors discuss understandings of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission(TRC) and sites of learning about the past such as storytelling and museums.
