This paper explores the reintegration of juvenile offenders in South Africa as part of the Integrated Youth Offenders Program (IYOP). It reviews this approach within a human and child rights framework to determine whether an integrated approach is an appropriate and effective means of preventing re-offending in young offenders. The paper concludes with recommendations to strengthen the IYOP.
