This paper examines political violence in the province of KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), South Africa. The author analyzes high-profile case studies of post-apartheid political violence in KwaZulu-Natal to show that post-apartheid political violence has been determined and fueled by a failure to confront past divisions and their legacies. He concludes that systemic political violence in KwaZulu-Natal has not yet been addressed.
