This paper explores the post-apartheid changes experienced in Kathorus, South Africa, during the region's reconstruction and reintegration. The author tells the story of recovery through the eyes of young people, emphasizing processes of memory and remembrance. She highlights that in order to understand and prevent violence in South Africa, ongoing and action-oriented research is required.
