This paper examines Russia's foreign policy with regard to Iran. The author argues that Russia treats cooperation with Iran - on energy and military issues - as one of the measures to stabilize the situation in the Caucasus and Central Asia. Further, he suggests that Russia treats Iran as an instrument to pressure the US in its ability to adversely affect US interests.
