This report explores aviation safety and security in Africa, highlighting the concerns and challenges within the global and regional context while mapping aviation insecurity in the region. It highlights the industry's lack of compliance with international guidelines and analyzes the underlying causes. The author also analyzes the steps that the African aviation industry must take to curb security and safety related incidents. The report concludes with policy recommendations to strengthen aviation security in the context of security challenges such as international terrorism.
