This report explores the political crisis in Chad following outbreaks of violence in 2007. It begins with an overview of Chad's domestic political crisis, including the effect of regional violence and instability. The author discusses the historical background, highlighting factional rivalries and reasons behind the existence of an unstable state. He also explores challenges to democratization and the involvement of external actors as an aggravating factor. The report concludes by examining UN resolution 1778 and whether it can bring about peace and stability in the country.
