This report looks at the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), which was established by the Chad Basin countries to combat Boko Haram. It specifically reviews 1) the process that led to MNJTF’s creation; 2) how the initiative is structured; and 3) the limited operational capabilities it has acquired thus far. Despite its specified problems, however, the authors conclude that the Task Force is indeed “gaining ground.”
