The three articles in this issue of the CAD focus on 1) what role the Caucasus Muslims Board played in the state building process in post-Soviet Azerbaijan; 2) the Georgian Orthodox Church´s stance on democratization and the institution´s potential to engage in political reform in Georgia; and 3) what the relationship between Armenia’s civil society, political elite and its Apostolic Church means for democratization in the country.
