Given that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are responsible for up to 60 percent of total carbon emissions, this paper analyzes the roles they can play as innovators and facilitators in the fight against climate change. The text’s author acknowledges that SMEs have obvious capacity gaps, but he also believes they possess valuable assets that can contribute to climate change mitigation efforts. Given this belief, the paper closes by providing a set of policy recommendations for SMEs-related action.
