This bulletin argues that Donald Trump’s electoral triumph helps Marine Le Pen in two ways – it legitimizes her claims about global political trends and reinforces her argument about the importance of national identity. And yet, while Le Pen may hint at certain “ideological correlations” between herself and Trump during the upcoming French presidential campaign, she will most likely abstain from any direct linkages because of the strong anti-Americanism that presently exists in French society.
