This issue of the JTR includes articles on 1) women who affiliate themselves with pro-ISIS networks on Twitter and other social media; 2) whether to interpret terrorism as a spectrum of increasing capabilities; 3) the current engagement of Italy’s Sunni jihadists in Syria and Iraq; 4) the evolution of the concept of jihadism as it presently exists in cyberspace; and 5) the levels of civilian casualties and territorial loss and control experienced in Aleppo, Syria, as determined by the ‘control-collaboration’ model developed by Stathis Kalyvas in “The Logic of Violence in Civil War.”
