This brief examines the G20’s role as a steward of globalization and manager of the global economy. While exploring this theme, the brief 1) reviews the roles G20 nations have played in catalyzing the development of international institutions since the Bretton Woods era, and 2) proposes ways to close three gaps in development-related global governance — climate change, the Internet, and sovereign debt.
