The featured articles in this issue of the Sentinel focus on the global terrorism threats and counterterrorism challenges the incoming Trump administration will face, and the francophone Islamic State network that was responsible for the 2016 terrorist attacks in Paris and Brussels. The online journal’s other texts look at 1) how increasingly sophisticated media technologies are changing the face of terrorism; 2) the consequences of Russia’s military intervention in Syria; and 3) the military campaign to retake Mosul from the so-called Islamic State, to include what the future may hold for the city.
