This article argues there is very little chance that Russian President Vladimir Putin will fail to be reelected in Russia’s March 2018 presidential election. However, the text’s author also believes that President Putin is still concerned about the election itself, as he needs to maintain a façade of legitimacy and strength, both at home and abroad.
