Should the Trump administration add a multifaceted geoeconomic component to its nascent Asia-Pacific strategy? After briefly assessing US policy priorities in the region and the challenges they entail, this report explores two policy paths that could facilitate geoeconomic engagement – 1) increased bilateral trade and investment, and 2) enhanced security assistance programs.
