This paper analyzes the absence of accountable ethical standards in Internet governance and suggests ways to address the problem. The paper’s author specifically reviews the state of play on the issue and argues that the ethical standards recommended thus far lack substance. One possible solution is to engage online social networks in the process. They generally support the idea of clear ethical standards and have powerful economic and social resources to draw from.
