This fact sheet provides data on global, regional and national military spending in 2015. Some of the more relevant information that’s shared includes the following: 1) global military expenditures totaled $1676 billion in 2015, which represents a 1% increase in real terms; 2) the five biggest spenders were the US, China, Saudi Arabia, Russia and the UK; 3) military expenditure increased in Asia, Oceania, Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East, but decreased in the Americas, Western Europe and Africa; and 4) the spending decreases in the US and Western Europe have slowed down.
