With bilateral energy talks in a deadlock, this commentary examines how Germany and Poland may overcome their conflicting policy interests. According to the text's author, disagreements over coal sector modernization and the controversial Nord Stream II pipeline are largely fueled by energy security concerns. However, despite lingering points of contention, the author maintains that cooperation through tangible action, such as soft infrastructure improvements, will ultimately produce benefits for both countries.
