This paper looks at the political status of Turkey, which since mid-2015 has been buffeted by the polarizing winds of 1) terrorism; 2) the resumed conflict with the Kurdistan Worker’s Party; 3) the resulting partial displacement of the country’s southeastern population; and 4) the ongoing migration crisis. Given the scope of these problems, the text’s author predicts that Turkey will make considerable changes to its constitution in the near future and that Recep Erdoğan’s will further consolidate his power.
