This report looks at Japan’s various interests in the South China Sea region and the multilateral and bilateral policies it’s pursuing to support them. The report’s author specifically considers whether Japan’s proclaimed “proactive peace diplomacy” may contribute to a reduction of tensions between Tokyo and Beijing.
